The Tawacomen Tribe recognizes that many Indigenous people have been disconnected from their heritage due to historical erasure and forced assimilation. Even if you cannot identify a specific Native ancestor, your DNA or documented lineage is sufficient to establish your place within our community.

The Tawacomen Tribe is a sovereign Indigenous community that does not seek federal recognition, as we believe our identity is not defined by colonial government institutions.
